ALBA

Awake, my love, 'tis time for us to rise;
Sunrifter's brightness falls upon our eyes.
The Crier calls across the land to tell
of day's beginning, and that all is well.
Together let us greet the dawn.

Awake, my love; our destiny awaits,
for love has bound together both our fates.
If one must go, how shall the other stay?
A new horizon shines at break of day;
Together let us seek the dawn.

Awake, my love, and let us shed no tears,
but take this path in spite of grief and fears.
This is no end, but our new life begun;
your heart and mine forevermore are one
as we go forth to find the dawn.

This day I speak the praise of the warrior Zortek,
Zortek the brave, whom Balthazar smote with destruction.
Destruction came, descending fiercely on Valorn:
Valorn's adventurers battled the minions of evil,
evil led by Balthazar, Lord of Demons.

Demons raided; the Crier called and was heard.
Heard was the sound of Balthazar slaughtering heroes;
heroes who strove, and initiates, all were brought down.
Down in the Tombs was Zortek, and heard their voices,
voices of youth, of initiates, none who were strong.
Strong in rage was the answer of Zortek to Balthazar:
"Balthazar, coward, seek ye opponents more worthy!"

Worthy the words, though woeful their answer came swiftly.
Swiftly the Demon-lord sought the sword-bearer Zortek.
Zortek he struck, destroying his Ultimate Weapon,
weapon long sought, and weakened his body as well.
Well was Zortek content, though smitten by Balthazar,
Balthazar's wrath to turn from the people of Valorn.

Valorn is blessed, to have such a hero as he;
he in his turn was blessed with return of his weapon,
weapon of Ultimate Power, re-forged that was lost.
Lost was a measure of strength, but not of his honor.
Honor he surely has earned with deeds such as this:
This day I speak the praise of the warrior Zortek.
